As we gear up for the upcoming Grading Day on Wednesday 30th April, this week’s training is all about sharpening skills, building confidence, and celebrating progress across all our classes—from our youngest Mini Ninjas to our dedicated teens and adults!
🧠 Technique Focus: Patterns & Speed Drills
This week, all students will be working on their belt-specific patterns and speed drills to help them prepare for grading. We’ll focus on:
Improving flow and sharpness
Precision in stances and strikes
Belt-specific rhythm and transitions
These drills help reinforce memory, performance, and confidence under pressure—exactly what’s needed for a successful grading!
🛡️ Main Drill: Sparring Defense Skills
In our main drill section, students will be focusing on:
Blocking
Dodging
Counter movement and positioning
These techniques are essential for safe and effective sparring and will help students feel more confident and in control during practice.
🧤 Teens and Adults – please remember to bring your gloves for this week’s sparring defense drills!
🤼 Close Range & Groundwork: Side Choke Escape
We’ll continue our close-range self-defense and groundwork training with a focus on escaping from side chokes.
🏅 CCS Kids – Badge Week Has Arrived!
It’s also Badge Week for our amazing kids! 🎉We’ll be awarding badges at the end of each class to celebrate:
Positive Attitude
Some of these awards are based on instructor observations and others on parent submissions—thank you to everyone who sent in feedback!
Let’s give our Mini Ninjas a big round of applause for their effort, progress, and positive energy this month!
