Your Child’s First Martial Arts Class Was Just the Beginning
If your child has tried a free class at Chi Combat System, thank you for coming along. Walking into a new room, meeting an instructor and trying something unfamiliar is a meaningful first step—whether your child jumped straight in or needed a little time to settle.
You may still be deciding whether martial arts is right for your family. Perhaps you are thinking about confidence, the weekly routine or how your child felt afterwards. Here is what continuing with our kids’ classes can look like.
A first class is a starting point
A trial gives your child a chance to meet the team and experience the class. Regular training gives them opportunities to revisit the basics, become familiar with the group and practise skills step by step.
We encourage beginners to learn at their own pace. They do not need to arrive knowing the techniques or feeling confident in every activity. Asking for help, trying again and joining in a little more are all moments worth recognising.
Small achievements can mean a lot
In our kids’ programme, confidence, focus and coordination are goals we work towards through martial arts practice. That might mean listening to an instruction, remembering a movement or having another go when something feels difficult.
Belt and tag progression provide milestones along the way. The aim is to give children something to work towards while recognising effort and developing skills. Every child’s experience and pace will be different.
What one CCS parent shared
“Has been the best thing for my sons confidence and self belief”
— Carla Sophia da Silva Mendonca, Google review
It is lovely to hear what training has meant to this family. Your child will have their own journey, and we are here to support their next step.
Still deciding? Start with a conversation
If your child felt shy, tell us what they found comfortable and what felt unfamiliar. If they enjoyed the class but your schedule is busy, take a look at the timetable and ask us which session might fit. If you are unsure about the cost or uniform, we can explain the options before you enrol.
You can also ask your child: What did you enjoy? Was there anything you would like help with? Would you like to learn more? Their answers are a useful place to start.
Choose a routine that fits your family
