At Chi Combat System, we believe that martial arts is about more than just physical skills—it’s about building character, confidence, and resilience in every student. That’s why safeguarding and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. Whether a student is training for their next belt, learning self-defense, or simply finding their voice, we ensure that every class is a safe, supportive, and empowering space.

👥 A Safe Space for Every Student

We have clear safeguarding protocols in place. All our instructors are trained to:

  • Ensure every student feels seen, heard, and respected.

  • Respond appropriately to any concerns or incidents.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive training environment.

We also encourage open communication between instructors, students, and parents. If your child ever feels uncomfortable, anxious, or unsafe—whether inside or outside the class—we’re here to listen and help.

💬 Word of the Month: Confidence

This June, our Word of the Month is Confidence. Confidence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about trusting yourself and trying even when it’s hard. It’s about believing in your ability to grow.

In our classes this month, we’ll focus on:

  • Confidence through consistent effort.

  • Speaking up and showing leadership.

  • Responding to challenges with courage and calm.

Building confidence is especially important for helping students handle real-life situations. These situations include peer pressure and bullying, as well as unsafe environments. Our awareness drills and class discussions help reinforce these concepts in practical and relatable ways.

🧠 The Wellbeing Hub

We’ve also created a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Hub for our families. This space shares tips, resources, and updates on mental health, safety, and emotional support. You’re always welcome to reach out or join the discussion.

Resources for Parents

We understand that parents need tools to support their children at home. Here are some resources to consider:

  1. Books on Confidence: Reading can be a powerful way to foster confidence. Look for age-appropriate books that discuss themes of resilience and self-esteem.

  2. Workshops for Parents: We occasionally host workshops that help parents understand how to nurture their child’s emotional wellbeing.

  3. Community Support Groups: Connect with other parents for shared experiences and encouragement. Building a strong support network is vital.

🤝 Let’s Work Together

We’re proud to be more than just a martial arts school. We’re a community. And together—with your support—we aim to raise confident, kind, and resilient individuals.

We believe that a strong foundation in martial arts shapes not only physical skills but also character and social skills. It is vital for children to engage in activities that promote safeguarding and wellbeing.

If you have any questions about safeguarding or your child’s wellbeing, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
